Transmission Line Assessment

SEnergy provided project management and oversight services for a transmission line asset assessment project located in South Texas. The project consisted of two phases.

PHASE I: Included providing a high-level inventory of 20 substations and 130 miles of transmission line to inform and enable the purchase of transmission assets.

PHASE II: Included providing the Client with a detailed inventory, assessment, and drawings of transmission line assets to enable operations and maintenance of the system, as well as upgrade, investment, and recapitalization of the assets to meet the Client’s standards. SEnergy’s scope of work included: Data collection and engineering coordination: Easement assessment and verification, Pole-to-pole inventory and inspection of ~20 miles (~15%) of transmission lines, confirmation of conductor and overhead shield wire size, configuration, structure type, style, and material, collection of nameplate/birthmark information from poles including crossarm, x-brace, and knee brace information, notation of damper locations and quantities, Inspection of foundations and note pier, and implementation of revised processes to complete remaining ~85% transmission lines; Attendance of review meetings; Oversight to the completion of project engineering drawings and specifications; Facilitation of monthly project status meetings; and provided monthly reports that outlined recent accomplishments, coming activities, anticipated risks/issues, and updated schedule and milestones.
