Distribution
Engineering

SEnergy’s Distribution Engineering teams engineer medium-voltage overhead and underground distribution projects. We apply your construction standards to pre-engineered design guides so every design meets governing codes and standards.

Our field staking staff work with our engineers so we can deliver complete designs, even in highly varied field conditions. Our experience includes new construction, rebuilds, voltage conversions, conductor upgrades, subdivisions, and industrial parks.

Overhead and underground, built to your standards

Our transmission engineers design new build, re-build, and relocation projects in PLS-CADD, with routing studies, structure analysis, line optimization and analysis, and plan and profile development.

01

Overhead & underground design

Medium-voltage overhead and underground design built on Client standards and pre-engineered design guides. Our experience includes new construction, rebuilds, voltage conversions, and conductor upgrades.

02

Street Lighting Design

Street lighting design as part of our distribution engineering services, delivered alongside our overhead and underground design work.

03

Field staking & Design services

Field staking coordinated with our engineers for even the most diverse field conditions. Our technicians stake with survey-grade GPS and support self-supported structure design and procurement.

04

Construction coordination

Construction coordination on Design/Bid/Build and EPC projects. We manage scheduling, RFIs and submittals, pay requests, and quality control, and can act as the Owner’s representative.

05

Regulatory Permitting

Regulatory permitting for distribution projects. We prepare TxDOT permit exhibits and railroad crossing permits, and support underground road bores.

06

Easement procurement

Easement procurement and landowner coordination by field representatives who are registered notaries. We also prepare easement exhibits and coordinate 811 locates on the utility’s behalf.

07

Distribution construction work order inspections

Routine quarterly work order inspections to utility design standards, NESC, and NEC. Our inspections support annual system certifications and RUS Form 219 close-out.

Why Choose

Your standards, our design guides

We apply your construction standards to pre-engineered design guides, to meet governing codes and standards.

Field and engineering together

Field staking staff and engineers work as one team, delivering complete designs even in highly varied field conditions.

Any size of project

We have designed everything from a single service drop to a 17-mile tie line and rebuild, across 304 projects for one utility.

Studies that inform the design

Our planning group runs coordination, load flow, and hosting capacity studies and builds construction work plans from raw data or existing models.
